2026 Massac County Homecoming Parade

Vienna IL - LIghted Parade Tonight - Junque Jamboree and Vienna Fall Festival Tomorrow!

WMOK – VIENNA, Ill. —

VIENNA, Ill. — Two of Johnson County’s favorite autumn traditions are joining forces this fall to create a full weekend of community celebration, shopping, and entertainment on the Vienna Town Square.

The Vienna Fall Festival and the Fall Junque Jamboree will officially unite for a combined weekend event on Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3.

Traditionally held on separate weekends, organizers merged the two events to deliver an expanded, more dynamic autumn experience for area residents and visitors.

The festivities kick off Friday evening, October 2, with the annual parade through downtown Vienna. On Saturday, October 3, from 8 AM to 3 PM, the Town Square will host a full lineup featuring traditional festival food, family activities, and live entertainment alongside the Junque Jamboree’s curated vendor market. Shoppers can browse a wide selection of antiques, vintage finds, handmade crafts, home décor, and collectibles throughout the day.

By pairing the Fall Festival’s long-standing community traditions with the Junque Jamboree’s popular street market, organizers aim to boost regional attendance, highlight local vendors, and support downtown small businesses.

Whether you live or work in Johnson County, or simply hail from there, you won’t want to miss the hometown fun on October 2nd and 3rd!

I’ve talked with many of you in our Metropolis and Massac County community in the last couple of weeks to advise you that if I do not meet our sponsorship goal for the WMOK News Check, it will be eliminated from our programming at WMOK after over 75 years.

We’ve gone through this with our sports program for a few years now. Our sports program at WMOK is solid and protected thanks to our amazing sports sponsors

We are now facing this with the WMOK News Check.

It is no secret that businesses need money to operate.

These news check sponsorships cover the time it takes me to provide our WMOK news for Metropolis and Massac County.

This includes getting the news, finding the news, researching the news, writing the news stories, producing the news check, the time it takes for interviews, the time it takes for covering public meetings that are critical for public viewing in my opinion.

Sponsorships are available for the wmok news check – you can text me on the wmok text line at 618-524-9209. You can also reach me in messenger. If you have my cell phone number you may use that as well but I do prefer text to arrange time for a call.

Do you want to be without local news in Metropolis and Massac County?

What things have taken place that, if local news hadn’t covered them, would have gone completely under the radar?

Please share today’s WMOK “Yellow Sheet” with your friends and associates.

Sincere thanks and much love from Fairgrounds Road,

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is preparing to open its upcoming round of scheduling to help eligible families manage the cost of home heating and cooling bills.

What Is LIHEAP?

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a state and federally funded program designed to assist income-eligible households with energy costs.
