WMOK – Metropolis, IL – The Pope County Fire Protection District is celebrating a monumental milestone for emergency services in Southern Illinois. The district is proud to announce it has received $745,000 from a federal FEMA grant to purchase a brand-new fire engine and brand-new SCBAs (self-contained breathing apparatus).
This achievement marks the first time in history that Pope County has secured funding for a brand-new fire engine, a historic upgrade that will benefit the entire county tremendously alongside the life-saving breathing apparatus.
District leaders shared a massive shoutout of appreciation to Brady Crane with Crane Grantworx for all his hard work and dedication, noting that the team is super thankful for this incredible opportunity.
