Water Main Repaired in Metropolis; Boil Water Order Issued for Fairmount Subdivision


WMOK – Metropolis, IL – The City of Metropolis has successfully repaired a water main and restored service to affected residents.

However, as a precautionary measure, city officials have issued a Boil Water Order for the Fairmount Subdivision and the immediate area surrounding Kennedy Drive.

The order will remain in effect until bacteriological testing is completed to confirm the water is entirely safe to drink. Local officials express their gratitude to the community for their patience and understanding during the repair process and state that another update will be posted as soon as the order is lifted.
