Mr Hayes Discusses Unit 1 Testing and Concerns for “Test Stress” 4.10.24

/ WMOK

WMOK – Massac County, IL – When Massac County School Superintendent Jason Hayes joined us this week for Coffee Break he advised that state testing is complete at the Junior High and High School Level, and elementary school testing is next up!

Hayes told WMOK he’s concerned for the students – especially the younger ones – who are experiencing anxiety surrounding the tests.

He points out that it IS a very important test.  Mr. Hayes said that the test serves as a snapshot and if a  student doesn’t get a good night’s sleep or is distracted they could do poorly on it.  However, Hayes encouraged students with a bit of advice we could all take – Do Your Best.

The test covers Math, English and Science and will be given for grades 3rd through 6th.
