Community Health Lunch & Learn Set for Sept. 21 at Massac Memorial Hospital

Massac Memorial Hospital is hosting a free Community Health Lunch & Learn on Monday, Sept. 21, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the MMH Classroom. Held in recognition of Pain Awareness Month, the event offers local residents an opportunity to enjoy a complimentary meal while gaining valuable insights into managing chronic pain.

The educational session will feature speaker Ashley Suggs, APRN, of the Massac Memorial Pain Center. Key topics covered during the hour include:

  • Defining Chronic Pain: Understanding the root causes and nature of long-term pain.

  • Management Strategies: Exploring available options and techniques to control discomfort.

  • Seeking Treatment: Identifying the signs that indicate it is time to consult specialized pain management care.

While admission and lunch are free to the public, advance reservations are required to secure a meal. Community members can reserve their spot by calling 618-638-1348.
