The musical legacy of former Massac County High School Band Director David Hannan will be celebrated on Monday, September 7, 2026, during the annual Metropolis Labor Day Parade.
The David Hannan Marching Classic will showcase high school marching bands from across Southern Illinois in a judged parade competition, bringing local musical talent and community spirit to the streets of Metropolis.
Organized in partnership with Massac County Bands, the event honors Hannan’s lasting impact on local music education and performance. The parade step-off is scheduled for 10:00 AM.
The David Hannan Marching Classic is sponsored by the Metropolis Lions Club and TC3 Music Supply.
