WMOK News Alert: City-Wide Boil Water Order Issued Following Water Main Break

City of Metropolis crews remain on the scene working to repair a water main break near the intersection of 2nd Street and Metropolis Street.

Due to the break and resulting system pressure loss, city officials have issued a city-wide boil water order effective immediately until further notice.

• Boil Water Instructions: All residents must bring water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, or brushing teeth to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute before consumption.
