Road Conditions and Closures in Massac County

The Massac County Highway Department wants to inform residents about important updates regarding road conditions and closures in our area.

Pell Rd is now open just south of Unity School Rd, but drivers should exercise caution as the surface is currently gravel where culvert replacements are occurring. The department plans to resurface Pell Rd next spring or summer, with several culverts set to be replaced this summer in preparation for the upcoming project.

Next week, you’ll notice additional work underway as culverts will be replaced just south of Powers Church Rd. The department has indicated there will be further posts regarding closures related to this work, so keep an eye out for updates if you travel this route.

In other news, the closure of Country Club Rd has been extended and is expected to remain in effect until approximately May 20, 2026. This extension is due to a combination of factors that have necessitated the additional work.
