Metropolis Police Make Arrests During Traffic Stop
Metropolis, December 1, 2024 – A routine patrol by a Metropolis officer turned into a notable incident on Thursday when the officer encountered a driver with a revoked license.
The officer spotted a silver GMC at the intersection of 10th and Ferry and recognized the driver, 39-year-old Aimee M. Cochrane, of which he was aware has a history of license issues.
After conducting a traffic stop, a computer check confirmed that her driver’s license remained revoked. Cochrane was subsequently charged and released on a notice to appear in court.
The situation escalated when Terance C. Moore, a 41-year-old resident of Metropolis, approached the scene in a belligerent manner. He began shouting obscenities at the officer, who repeatedly instructed him to refrain from interfering and leave the area. Moore’s refusal to comply led to his arrest on charges of obstructing a peace officer. He, too, was released on a notice to appear.
Both individuals are expected to face legal proceedings related to their respective charges.
