This Afternoon – Sunny, with a high near 91. Light southeast wind becoming south 12 to 17 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Tonight – A chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1am and 2am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 69. South wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Wednesday – A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 1pm and 4pm, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. South southwest wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Wednesday Night – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 7pm, then showers and thunderstorms between 7pm and 10pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 10pm. Low around 65. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Noon – The Kiwanis Club of Metropolis meet every Tuesday at noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 520 Ferry Street in Metropolis. 

The Metropolis Elks Lodge monthly meetings take place the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Except July, August and December only the 1st Tuesday. Members only can attend. Applications can be picked up at the Lodge or from a member.

5:30p – Metropolis Public Library Board of Trustee Meeting – Downstairs at the Metropolis Public Library – 317 Metropolis Street

Have you ever realized you still had an old library book for months, or even years? It happens! Don’t let the fear of fines keep you from getting the most out of your library.

If you have any library materials, no matter how long you’ve had them, return them this month and the late fines will be forgiven, no questions asked.
