Deadline for this phase of Hiring at the Metropolis Public Hiring Ends This Week

(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – WMOK spoke with Metropolis Public Library interim director Colby Kennedy about upcoming employment opportunities at the library on this morning’s WMOK Coffee Break.

As re-staffing and organizing continue the deadline for the part-time position of Programming Librarian is this week.

Director Kennedy originally planned on three new positions however the availability of funding has calls for some diversion in the plan.

The first new position will be filled soon. Kennedy hopes that following a look at the budget for the next fiscal year another part-time position can be filled to handle adult programming and genealogy.

"Closing the Digital Divide in Massac County: Connect Massac Aims to Bring Broadband to All

Metropolis, IL – The Connect Massac Group has launched an initiative to bring fast, reliable, and affordable broadband internet access to every home, business, and farm in Massac County. This effort aims to bridge the digital divide and ensure equal access to online opportunities for all residents.

To better understand the current state of broadband in the county and future needs, the group is conducting a brief and confidential survey. Residents’ participation is crucial in helping Connect Massac develop strategies for improved broadband infrastructure and enhanced public safety information dissemination.

For more information, call 618-522-0210 or email connectmassac@gmail.com. Tune in to WMOK’s Coffee Break program on May 9th to hear from Tiffany Korte and Kaley McGinnis as they discuss the program in more detail.”
