Massac Unit #1 Superintendent Jason Hayes talks Books, Critical Race Theory, Social Media and More


(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – Massac County Unit 1 School Superintendent Jason Hayes joined us in the WMOK studio on Wednesday morning for his regularly scheduled Coffee Break. (3rd Wednesday Monthly)  We discussed our usual topics regarding accolades and acknowledgments; and we covered important upcoming dates – including the Massac County Prom (April 27).

As we moved on to the “chat” portion of our Coffee Break – we asked Mr. Hayes what his experience has been on “community concerns regarding what types of books are in the Unit 1 school libraries”.

Mr. Hayes told WMOK that community concern for the library books has not been something that has been an issue however, it has been addressed at the curricular level on a few occasions.
