Metropolis Police Department in Need of Dispatcher


(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – Metropolis Police Chief Harry Masse has advised that they are hiring a full time 911 dispatcher.  Masse said that the position will likely be a night shift. 6p to 6a. (Union shop shift bids are twice a year by seniority)

Applications are available at Metropolis Police Department, 1020 Broadway St. Starting pay is $17.74 an hour plus benefits and retirement. .55 cents an hour shift differential for nights as well.

City of Metropolis Police Department is hiring a full-time dispatcher.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:

 

• 21 years of age
• US Citizen
• Work under stressful conditions
• Be able to deal with people under different stressful circumstances
• Pass drug test
• Pass criminal background test
• Pass IL State Police LEADS testing.
• Be able to type approx. 50 words per minute
• Be able to multi task under stressful situations
• Be able to work different shifts and holidays
• Excellent starting pay and benefits
