A driver was airlifted to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a crash shortly before 5:30 this morning on US Route 45 approximately ½ mile north of Burnett Road, Massac County.
Illinois State Police Troop 10 advised WMOK that the preliminary information indicates that Unit 1 (2004 White Chevrolet Truck) was traveling north on Us Route 45. Unit 2 (2021 Peterbilt Truck-Tractor Semi-Trailer Combination) was travelling south at the same location. For unknown reasons, Unit 1 driver crossed the centerline and struck Unit 2 in the southbound lane.
Unit 2 driver reported no injuries on scene.
The roadway was closed for approximately 3 ½ hours and is now open.
