Massac Unit #1 Office Project Continues – New Carpet Coming to Massac High

/ WMOK

WMOK recently spoke with Massac Unit 1 Superintendent Jason Hayes regarding the Massac Unit #1 Office Project that Continues and the new carpet coming to Massac High.

Mr. Hayes told WMOK that the bids for the office project and the MCHS carpet replacement were awarded at the last school board meeting.  H.E. Mitchell out of Harrisburg received the bid for the Unit Office.  The school has previously worked with them during construction of the maintenance buildings and restrooms. Hayes said “they did a really good job so I was kind of happy to see them back”.

Foresight construction received the carpet replacement bid.  Foresight is out of Goreville.  Hayes advised WMOK “That’s going to be something we tackle this summer. There are around 30 rooms that have carpet in them at the high school and some are still original and need replacing.” The school decided to replace the current carpet  with the carpeted tile, that way if there is a tear or stain, you just replace those tiles and not the whole carpet.
