On Tuesday morning Metropolis Officers received a report from a citizen who was actively observing someone inside their vehicle at 4:09am.

Upon arrival officers found that the offender was gone and began searching the area attempting to locate the offender.

Officers then located another vehicle with its interior dome light on at which time officers heard noises which sounded like somebody fleeing the area through the back yards.  A Metropolis Sergeant observed the subject running into the wooded area near W. 5 th St.

A perimeter was set up and officers were able to locate the subject hiding in the woods.

Synek was charged with possession of burglary tools, Burglary to auto and Unlawful use/possession of a weapon.

Due to the cooperation of citizens the quarters and the container were linked to a vehicle that had been broken into.
