Sully’s Billiards and Hannan Logistics wrapped up their recurring summer initiative this past weekend, hosting the final Free Meal Saturday of the season just in time for local students heading back to school in Massac County.
The program finished the season on a strong note, serving 115 meals during Saturday’s final giveaway. That final push brought the overall total for the summer of 2026 to an impressive 1,004 meals distributed to area youth.
Organizers expressed deep appreciation for the area residents, businesses, and volunteers who stepped up to make the recurring summer tradition a success. Whether individuals helped prepare and distribute food, dropped off personal or corporate donations, or simply swung by to pick up a plate, event leaders noted that the program’s growth relies entirely on local support, emphasizing that it truly takes a community effort to care for area families.
As the summer program comes to a close, organizers wish all Massac County students and families a safe, happy, and successful upcoming school year, and look forward to bringing the free meal initiative back to the community next summer.
