The Metropolis Public Library is reaching out to the community for help in expanding its available media and literature. If you have been doing some spring cleaning or simply have items you no longer need, your gently used donations could find a second life on the library’s shelves.
The library is currently focusing its collection efforts on specific categories, primarily geared toward younger readers and home entertainment.
Items Currently Being Accepted
The library is asking for donations in good condition for the following categories:
Children’s Fiction Books: For the youngest readers in our community.
Junior Fiction: This includes both traditional chapter books and graphic novels.
Young Adult Fiction: Engaging titles for teenagers and young adults.
DVDs: Films and series to bolster the library’s physical media collection.
How to Donate
Community members in Metropolis, Massac County, and beyond who wish to contribute are encouraged to ensure all items are in good, usable condition before dropping them off. Quality donations help ensure that these resources can be enjoyed by patrons for years to come.
By donating, you are helping to keep our local library a vibrant hub for learning and entertainment. For more information on where to drop off your items, you can visit the library at their Metropolis location or contact them directly at (618) 524-4312.
