On Sunday afternoon, the “Home of Superman” traded its cape for a crown as Metropolis, Illinois, rolled out the red carpet for Yolina Lindquist. Following her historic win as the first American to be named Miss Cosmo International in Vietnam, the community hosted a vibrant homecoming celebration at “The Space” on Market Street.

The festivities kicked off with a scenic tour of local landmarks, including the Superman Statue and Fort Massac, before the main event. Supporters gathered for a red-carpet arrival, awards ceremony, and a personal meet-and-greet.

Lindquist, a Southern Illinois University graduate, shared her gratitude with her hometown of Metropolis, the small town that fostered her “Courage Over Cancer” advocacy, proving that even global stars never forget their roots.
