A great tip for your holiday conversations:

/ WMOK

Practice “Active listening”.  Active listening is a communication technique that involves fully concentrating, understanding, responding, and remembering what the speaker is saying. It goes beyond simply hearing words; it requires engaging with the speaker both verbally and non-verbally to show that you are attentive and interested.

This can include nodding, making eye contact, and summarizing or reflecting on what the speaker has shared to ensure clarity and comprehension.

Active listening not only helps foster a deeper connection between individuals but also encourages more meaningful conversations, as both parties feel heard and valued.

By practicing active listening, we cultivate empathy and understanding, which are essential for effective communication.
