Medicare Open Enrollment - October 15 to December 7

Medicare Open Enrollment runs annually from October 15 to December 7. This is the crucial period for beneficiaries to review their current plan and make changes, such as switching between Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, or prescription drug plans.

The Kincaid Mounds Archaeological Field Day

The Kincaid Support Organization will present a program at the Kincaid Mounds Historic Site. Formal presentations on the Mississippian Culture will begin at 10:00 AM and at 1:00 PM. There will be artifact displays, artifact identification, information tables, and a walking tour of Mound 8. (hiking shoes recommended) The program is free to the public. The Metropolis Chamber of Commerce is buzzing with excitement as preparations for this year’s Christmas Season are in full swing! One of the most beloved events in our community is the annual Christmas Parade, and it’s time for us to settle on a theme that will truly ignite the holiday spirit.

As we gear up for the 2025 Christmas Parade, the chamber wants to involve you, our community, in this festive decision-making process. Your thoughts and ideas matter, and they believe that the best themes often come from the creativity of our community members.

Whether it’s inspired by classic holiday movies, whimsical characters, or even a heartwarming message reflecting the spirit of the season, all suggestions are welcome! From “A Winter Wonderland” to “The Magic of Christmas,” let your imagination soar!
