Buncombe Consolidated School District No. 43 Responds to Nearby Incident

Buncombe, Illinois — Today at approximately 11:24 a.m., Buncombe Grade School was notified of a suspicious individual in the village of Buncombe.

 

In response, the school and all staff members immediately initiated lockdown procedures to ensure the safety of students and personnel. Local and state law enforcement quickly responded and apprehended the individual.

 

“The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority,” said Superintendent Jamie Kerley. “We are grateful for the swift response from local and state authorities and the cooperation of our staff in keeping everyone safe.”
