WMOK _ Metropolis, IL – In the early hours of Wednesday, July 2nd, a main line break occurred in the Round Knob community, causing temporary disruptions to the water supply. The break was reported at approximately 3:30 AM, prompting immediate response from local water authorities.

 

 

 

 

Fortunately, the leak has since been repaired, and crews are actively engaged in filling and flushing the lines to restore normal operations. However, as a precautionary measure, residents in the affected area are advised to boil their drinking water until Friday, July 4th, at 10:00 AM. This advisory is aimed at ensuring the safety of drinking water during the restoration process.

Local authorities have reached out to customers directly impacted by the incident, and detailed maps have been made available, highlighting the areas affected by the water main break. Residents are encouraged to refer to these maps, which are marked in red for clarity.
