Grand Opening of Happy Hearts Senior Center Friday June 27th – 11am

WMOK – Metropolis, IL  – The community is buzzing with excitement as the much-anticipated Happy Hearts Senior Center prepares to officially open its doors this Friday, June 27th, at 11:00 A.M. The grand ribbon-cutting ceremony marks the official beginning of a new era for local seniors, providing them with a dedicated space for activities, socialization, and support.

Located at  701 Pearl Street, Metropolis (former IGA / Sav-A-Lot building), Happy Hearts Senior Center aims to foster an inclusive environment where seniors can thrive. The center offers a variety of programs tailored to the interests and needs of older adults. In addition, the center will host regular social events to help seniors connect and build lasting friendships.

“This center is more than just a facility; it’s a community,” said Director Bettie Stoner. “We’re thrilled to open our doors and invite local seniors to explore all the resources and activities we have to offer.”

The ribbon-cutting event will feature special guests, including city officials and local advocates for senior wellness. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the facility, learn about upcoming programs, and join in the festivities with light refreshments and entertainment.
