WMOK (Metropolis, IL) – The Metropolis City Pool with open for the summer at Noon on Memorial Day, Monday May 26th.

Swim Lessons:

METROPOLIS City Pool is offering swim lessons in 2025. The cost is $25 per child per session, and children must be 3 years old by the first day of swim lessons. There are two sessions:
  • Session 1:
    • Dates: Week of June 2nd through the week of June 23rd
    • Registration & Assessment: June 2nd & 3rd, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
    • Class Options:
      • Beginner: 9:30 AM Monday & Thursday; 10:30 AM Tuesday & Friday
      • Intermediate: 10:30 AM Monday & Thursday; 9:30 AM Tuesday & Friday
  • Session 2:
    • Dates: Week of July 7th through the week of July 28th
    • Registration & Assessment: July 7th & 8th, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
    • Class Options:
      • Beginner: 10:30 AM Monday & Thursday; 9:30 AM Tuesday & Friday
      • Intermediate: 9:30 AM Monday & Thursday; 10:30 AM Tuesday & Friday
Classes will be capped at 25 students.


 

2025 Swim Parties

Total Rental Fee: $200 cash or check only ($100 due at time of reservation & $100 due at beginning of party time slot)
Party Time Slots: Sunday & Saturday 5pm-7pm.
To Reserve: Fill out form & pay deposit in City Hall Mayor’s Office
Reservations will not be accepted until Monday, May 19th
RENTAL POLICIES AND FEES:
  • Reservations MUST be made TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE of rental date.
  • Cancelations MUST be made AT LEAST 48 HOURS BEFORE rental date otherwise the deposit will be forfeited.
  • A $100 deposit is due at time of reservation. The deposit fee will be applied to the total rental fee provided that cleanup is satisfactory and there is no damage to the facility.
  • Remaining $100 rental fee is due at beginning of rental time to the Head Lifeguard.
REGULATIONS:
  • Responsible party shall return facilities and its’ furnishings and property in the same condition as received. It is the responsibility of the Event Holder to discard of all trash and clean up after the party.
  • ALL Event attendees MUST follow ALL pool rules. Pool rules are posted and available upon request.
  • Music is allowed, but no profanity or vulgarity is permitted. Volume must be at a level so as to not bother surrounding neighborhood.
  • Lifeguards have the final authority regarding any safety issues or concerns.
  • City of Metropolis is not responsible for losses, damages, and/or misplaced personal property placed in or on its facility grounds by any person associated with event.
  • All facilities, including parking lots, must be cleared and vacated within twenty (20) minutes after the end of the event.



2025 Swim Passes

Individual Price: $25 per person
Group Price: $20 per person for two or more in the same household
Information needed to purchase a pass:
  • Name of Head of Household (must be 18 or older)
  • Address
  • Phone
  • Emergency Contact
  • Pool Pass Holder(s) name(s) and birthdate(s)
Passes are valid on all operating days for the 2025 Season. Hours and dates open are subject to change at any time and subject to closures due to weather, staffing, or other issues out of the control. All Pool Pass holders will be required to check in each visit. No sharing of passes is allowed. Passes for two (2) or more people must live in the same household. Proof of household residency may be required. Children 10 and under must be supervised at all times by an adult (18 or over). Passes are non-refundable.


METROPOLIS City POOL RULES:

  • No bullying, racial slurs, profanity, fighting
  • No running
  • No smoking or vaping
  • No alcohol
  • No diving in shallow areas
  • No food or drink in the pool
  • Swimwear must be worn by all entering the pool
  • Swim diapers are required for all not toilet trained
  • Long hair must be in a ponytail
  • Shower before swimming
  • Do not sit or hang on divider ropes
  • Do not climb or sit on lifeguard chairs
SLIDE RULES:
  • Feet first always
  • No jumping or diving
  • No rough play
  • Non-swimmers not allowed
  • No floaties or toys
  • One person at a time
  • Do not slide until the landing is clear
  • No swimming in front of the slide
  • No catching sliders
  • Maximum weight is 325 lbs
DIVING BOARD RULES:
  • One person at a time on the board & ladder
  • No cartwheels, handstands, or hanging off
  • No running on the board
  • Only one bounce before diving
  • No swimming or playing in the diving area
  • Wait until the landing area is clear before diving
  • No floaties or toys allowed
