(WMOK ) Metropolis, IL – The Connect Massac initiative aims to enhance broadband infrastructure in Massac County.
Earlier this year, a group of visionary leaders discovered a grant program that could move Massac County into the fast lane of high-speed internet connectivity. By seizing this opportunity, Connect Massac seeks to bridge the digital divide, empowering residents, businesses, and institutions with reliable and rapid access to information.
Massac Connect organizers tell WMOK that this transformative initiative can revolutionize daily life and workflow and foster economic growth, education, and innovation, ultimately elevating the overall quality of life for Massac County residents.
Reliable broadband connectivity is not just about faster internet. It’s about seamless communication with loved ones, healthcare providers, and essential services. It’s about our farmers benefiting from accurate GPS settings on their equipment, significantly enhancing their productivity and competitiveness. It’s about addressing a long-standing challenge faced by remote workers and potential residents, who require higher broadband speeds to perform their jobs. By bridging this digital divide, Connect Massac will attract new residents, support local businesses, and foster a more connected and prosperous community.
The surveys were released several weeks ago, marking the beginning of the Connect Massac initiative, and the deadline is now just around the corner. All Massac County residents are urged to take the survey from the comfort of your home using your internet connection. If you prefer, you can also fill out a paper copy of the survey.
The Connect Massac Group asks you to take advantage of this opportunity to shape the future of Massac County’s broadband infrastructure.
