SIERA Field day on Saturday at Fort Massac State Park – SIERA President Jay Smock: “Field Day is the ‘Super Bowl’ for Ham Radio”

Earlier this month Jay Smock, President of Southernmost Illinois Emergency Radio Association joined us at WMOK for Coffee Break.  He along with Massac County Emergency Management Director Brian Horn spoke about our emergency infrastructure in Massac County, the importance of ham radio and it’s technology, the Southernmost Illinois Emergency Radio Association and more.

Smock invites the public to attend the SIERA Field day on Saturday at Fort Massac State Park.  Smock said, “Field Day is the ‘Super Bowl’ for Ham Radio”.  The event will begin at 1pm and the group will be at the pavillion near the Trout Pond at Fort Massac.

Folks may see the equipment, talk on the radio and explore the world of Ham Radio.  Massac County Emergency Management Director Brian Horn will be on hand as well as other members of of SIERA.
