WMOK recently spoke with Metropolis Animal Control and Abatement Officer John Roman on Coffee Break about Raccoons and baby wildlife. Officer Roman told WMOK that raccoons are probably infected with distemper and can infect your pets. When Officer Roman gets a call, he has to go and get the raccoon and put them down. He said with wildlife, leave them alone if you see animals such as deer or rabbits leave their young. Officer Roman assured, they will come back, so please leave them alone.
