8a – WMOK spoke with Massac Unit School District #1 Superintendent Jason Hayes moments ago and he advised that all of the students are safe and unharmed but will be checked out just in case. He advised that arrangements will be made to get them on to school this morning.  Mr Hayes told WMOK that the bus involved was Franklin Elementary School bus #15.  Tune in now for updates as we begin our Coffee Break with officer John Roman
9:15a – Massac County Sheriff’s Office Chad Kaylor has advised that the scene at North Avenue and Country Club Road is clear.
At this time WMOK has been unable to independently confirm the condition of the injured driver.

There have been multiple accidents recently – and for years, really – at the intersection of North Avenue and Country Club Road.

Metropolis Animal Control Officer John Roman joined us at WMOK for his regularly scheduled Coffee Break as events unfolded on Wednesday morning and we discussed this and recent crashes in Massac County as we opened Coffee Break.  He stated that he thought there had been three wrecks at the intersection in about the last week and a half.  WMOK reached out to the Massac County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday for recent numbers regarding accidents at the intersection.
