Vienna High School Superintendent, Joshua W. Stafford advised WMOK that there will be an early childhood book club forming at Vienna High School hosted by Shawnee Community College. Laura Hosfeldt who serves as the college’s extension center director in Vienna can be contacted at laurah@shawneecc.edu. The next meeting is Saturday, January 21st at 10 am at Vienna High School in the media center. The registration link for this can be found here: https://shawneecc.edu/community-education/saints-kids
The event is free for all families that attend, and each child will leave with the book that is read. This event is not just for Johnson County families but any family with young children.
The hope is that this will become a monthly event that will be of great benefit to both the children and their families, providing resources and literacy to our youngest children.
