Monday Night Chase in Metropolis Results in Aggravated Fleeing Arrest and Multiple Other Charges

(WMOK – Massac County, IL) When Massac County Sheriff Chad Kaylor joined us on Tuesday for Coffee Break he told us about a Monday night chase in Massac County that resulted in an arrest.

Sheriff Kaylor told WMOK that the chase began when some of his deputies attempted a traffic stop in Metropolis and the driver refused to stop.  The chase went into the county and ended in  Northeastern Massac County – Sheriff Kaylor referred to the area as North of Midway Road in the Pines Area.

Interestingly enough the vehicle fled toward the home of Massac County Sheriff Chad Kaylor – Hear Sheriff Kaylor’s telling of the event in the clip below – as well as further detail on determining the safety of pursuing a chase:

 

According to court documents 34 year old Adam Virgil Burnham of Massac County was arrested and charged with: SPEEDING 35+ MPH OVER LIMIT,  IMPROPER USE REGIS/TITLE , DISREG OFFL TRAFFIC-CON DEVICE (x3), AGG FLEEING POLICE/21 MPH OVER, AGG FLEEING/2+ CON DEVICES.  A preliminary status hearing is set for 12/29/22 and the first appearance is set for 01/19/2023.
