The National Institute of Corrections (NIC) hosts an educational webinar titled “Providing Safety and Security: Managing Women in the Criminal Justice System” to address the unique needs of justice-involved women.
Historically, criminal justice policies, practices, and programs were designed for men and applied to women without accounting for distinct gender-responsive needs. As the female population within the system continues to grow, this session highlights research-backed approaches tailored to the specific circumstances, risk factors, and needs of women in correctional settings.
