Water Main Break Causes Service Disruption and Precautionary Boil Order for Some Massac Residents

The Fort Massac Water District has announced that a water main break occurred late last night, leading to localized water outages for residents along Grand Chain Road and Tick Ridge Road. The break was detected around 10:00 PM, and crews have been diligently working to mitigate the impact on affected customers.

Full restoration of water service is anticipated by 8:00 AM on Thursday. However, residents on Grand Chain Road and Tick Ridge Road between Hillerman and Post Creek are advised to follow a precautionary boil order, which is set to remain in effect until Monday, February 23rd, at 10:00 AM.

Customers residing outside the affected areas are not impacted by this situation. Residents unsure of their status are encouraged to reach out for clarification. The water district has urged anyone with questions to call their office at 618-543-7475 between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

The boil order is a precautionary measure specifically for drinking water and is intended to ensure the safety of residents. The Fort Massac Water District extends its apologies for the inconvenience and appreciates the understanding and patience of the community during this time.
