Harrisburg Woman Arrested for Suspended Registration and Outstanding Warrant

On December 6, a Metropolis police officer initiated a traffic stop due to a vehicle following too closely. The driver complied and pulled into the Thrive parking lot for the officer to conduct further checks.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle’s registration was suspended for failing to maintain mandatory insurance. Additionally, a computer check revealed that the driver, identified as 66-year-old Sandra L. Schauer from Harrisburg, was wanted on an outstanding warrant. This warrant, issued by Saline County, Illinois, was for failure to appear related to the operation of a vehicle with suspended registration.

Following the findings, Schauer was arrested and charged accordingly. She has since been lodged in the Massac County Detention Center, where she awaits further legal proceedings.

The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
