A routine traffic stop turned into a legal matter for a LaVerne, TN resident on December 6. A Metropolis Police Officer pulled over a vehicle traveling at 44 mph in a 30 mph zone on 5th Street at Girard.
The driver, identified as 42-year-old Mehdad Bir of LaVerne, TN, was subjected to a computer check, which revealed that he was operating the vehicle with a revoked driver’s license. As a consequence of these violations, Bir was charged by the officer.
Following the incident, he was released on a notice to appear in court.
The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
