Tiny's Memorial Christmas Challenge: Help Project Hope Humane Society Reach $10,000 Goal

The holiday season has arrived, and Project Hope Humane Society is kicking off Tiny’s Memorial Christmas Challenge, aiming to raise $10,000 by year’s end, a figure that will be matched entirely by donations. The initial goal is to gather $5,000 by the end of the month to help support their efforts in providing care for the animals at the shelter.

For those who may not know, Tiny the Chihuahua was once an animal shelter rescue herself. For the past 14 years, she has been a beloved figure at Project Hope, issuing “Tiny’s Challenge” to help raise funds for the shelter. Despite her passing, Tiny’s spirit continues to inspire her owner and volunteers who are dedicated to honoring her memory by increasing the matching donation amount to an impressive $10,000.

“Tiny was not just a pet; she was a vital part of our community and helped us make a difference in the lives of countless animals,” said a spokesperson for Project Hope Humane Society. “This challenge is not only about fundraisers but also about remembering the impact Tiny had during her time with us.”

There are several ways to contribute to the fundraiser and have donations matched. Interested supporters can donate through a dedicated Fundraiser on Project Hope’s Facebook page, which allows for easy contributions using PayPal Giving. Donations can also be made via check, sent to Tiny’s Challenge/Project Hope at PO Box 125, Metropolis, IL 62960. Donors are encouraged to note that their contributions are for Tiny’s Challenge.

For those who prefer to donate in person, Project Hope Humane Society welcomes visitors at their shelter located at 1698 W. 10th St., Metropolis, IL. Donations can be made using cash, check, or credit card during visiting hours, which are Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. Visitors also have the opportunity to meet and interact with the animals at the shelter during their visit.

Additionally, donations can be accepted via PayPal by using the email address info@projecthopehumanesociety.org.

Project Hope Humane Society, a small no-kill shelter in Metropolis, operates without state or federal funding and relies heavily on community support. With an average of 100 animals on-site—mostly cats and dogs—they strive to provide the highest quality care possible, including spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and microchipping for all adopted animals. The shelter incurs significant monthly expenses, making monetary donations and supplies crucial during this holiday season.
