The American Red Cross, in collaboration with the Metropolis Fire Department, is launching an initiative to enhance home safety by offering free smoke alarm installations.
Working smoke alarms can significantly reduce the risk of death during home fires, cutting it in half. This vital service aims to ensure that homes are equipped with functional smoke detection devices, thereby promoting fire safety within the community.
Today, Monday October 20th is the last day of registration for the free installation event. The smoke alarm installations will take place on Saturday, October 25, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
