Reflective striping work as part of micro-surfacing project

PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 25, 2025)  A nighttime lane restriction will be in place on Interstate 24 in McCracken County starting Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Weather permitting, crews will be applying reflective striping in segments along I-24 between Exit 16 and the Ohio River Bridge.

Work will take place between 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly. A reduced speed limit of 55 mph is in effect in the work zone.

Crews are expected to complete striping operations in Lyon County tonight, Monday, Aug. 25 before shifting work to McCracken.

Motorists should stay alert for signage and arrow-board trucks directing traffic.

Also, micro-paving on Interstate 69 is set to begin soon, covering the section between Exits 1-2 in Fulton County to near Exit 21 in Graves County. This portion of the work will take place during daylight hours and is expected to start on or about Sept. 2, weather permitting.

The work is part of a larger micro-surfacing project along Interstates 24 and 69 in KYTC District 1, aimed at improving safety and extending the life of the roadway surface.

The estimated target for overall project competition is about Sept. 30.
