WMOK (Metropolis, IL) – When Metropolis Mayor Gregg Jeffords joined up this week for WMOK’s Coffee Break we wanted to discuss Metropolis’ homeless population.
For sometime we’ve asked various officials when they’ve joined us for Coffee Break if there is any estimation of the number of homeless persons in Metropolis and we’ve been unable to receive an approximate number.
This is understandable as often “number counts” of various populations come from things like address listings and obviously that is not data that can be gathered from one who is without a home.
We at WMOK feel this is very important data to acquire as it will help us to better serve those in need and provide/assist with resources for their needs.
