Happy Hearts Senior Center Reopens in Metropolis: New Location, Familiar Comforts

WMOK (Metropolis, IL) – The Metropolis Happy Hearts Senior Center reopened on Monday at their new location at 7th and Pearl Streets in Metropolis.  Many will remember this as the former IGA building – most recently it has been Sav-A-Lot.

Bettie Stoner reminds folks that the facility doors open at 7am if they want to come in for morning coffee.  Happy Hearts suggests a $1.00 per day donation for “all the coffee you can drink”.  Folks are invited to attend during this time to have morning coffee, visit, pick up a card game, peruse their phones for today’s information or enjoy a book in the light of the immense window in the foyer.

Lunch is served at 11:30am and is a suggested donation of $3.00 per day.

The facility is open until 2pm.
