The Metropolis Lions Club is having a rummage sale on May 10th & 11th at the Metropolis Community Center on 10th Street. Sale starts at 9:00 am on the 10th and at 8:00 am on the 11th.  Proceeds from the sale will go toward Lions Club initiatives.

All items must be at your normal pick up place and within 5 feet of the trash container. All Items should be bagged or contained – anything loose should be bundled so that it can be handled by one employee. Lumber will be picked up in small amounts only and must be stacked in 3’x3′ rolls.  Carpet and padding must also be rolled in no larger than 3’x3′ rolls. Items that will not be picked up include: electronics, appliances, yard waste, hazardous or medical waste, construction and demolition debris, tires, batteries and paint cans (unless empty and dry).

Paint Class is $35 per individual, and includes a free boxed lunch to eat during break time.
The class will start at 12 pm and will last until 2:30 pm
Individuals may bring cash or check made out to Massac Memorial Hospital Auxiliary the day of the class.
However pre-registration is required so if you plan to attend, click on “Going,” so that the auxiliary knows exactly how many people will be coming.
Class size is limited to 30, so register quickly to secure your spot in class, which will be taught by Betty Diles Fitchett of Metropolis. Betty is a talented artist and loves teaching people how to paint.
Proceeds from this fundraiser go to the Auxiliary to help our local hospital and to help fund the annual scholarships awarded to atea high school seniors who are furthering their education in a healthcare related field.

Rolling In Faith will have a Glow Dance on Friday, May 24 at 7P. This will take place at the Metropolis Girl Scout House, 1230 E. 7th St. Tthe cost is $7 and the dance will feature the Heine Brothers DJ Service.  This event is for teens & adults with disabilities. Those under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

The May Market takes place on Sunday, May 19 from 10A until 4P. This will take place at the Girl Scout House, 1224 E. 7th St. Metropolis. The May Market is a vibrant and eclectic market where you can enjoy the world of vintage items, antiques, local farmer stands and so much more!

They will be accepting donations of  dog/cat dry/wet food, dog/cat beds, toys, and anything animals would enjoy. Donations will  go to the local non-profit Metropolis Project Hope Humane Society.

CNB’s Good Vibes Summer Concerts are bringing the heat to your favorite spot in town – the Gazebo! With an electrifying lineup of artists ready to set the stage on fire, this is the summer event you don’t want to miss!

Concerts will take place at the Gazebo in Washington Park in Metropolis, Il at 6:30P. On Friday, May 31st Blake Brown will be the performer!

All Items should be bagged or contained – anything loose should be bundled so that it can be handled by one employee. Lumber will be picked up in small amounts only and must be stacked in 3’x3′ rolls.  Carpet and padding must also be rolled in no larger than 3’x3′ rolls. Items that will not be picked up include: electronics, appliances, yard waste, hazardous or medical waste, construction and demolition debris, tires, batteries and paint cans (unless empty and dry).
