Massac Memorial Wellness Wednesday

Ashley Sledd, APRN
Family Practice
Facility/Office:
Massac Medical Clinic

Ashley Sledd, Nurse Practitioner at Massac Medical Clinic states she has seen the start of positive flu cases for this year. The clinic does have flu vaccines available, we give them Monday-Friday during office hours, and walk-ins for the vaccine are welcome. Ashley has not seen many positive Covid tests over the past few weeks, but strep throat is still going around.  During this change in seasons and weather it is not uncommon for patients to have a runny nose and cough as well, it is more than likely allergies unless fever is involved.

Ashley would like to remind parents to teach proper cough etiquette to their little ones. Encourage your kids to cover their mouth & nose with a tissue when they cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue away. If a tissue is not available, have your child cough or sneeze into their elbow instead of their hands. Good handwashing is very important this time of year.  Make sure and dress appropriately for changes in weather also.

If you would like to make an appointment to see Ashley Sledd or one of our other providers call the Massac Medical Clinic at 618-524-3572. Their office is located at 1204 W. 10th Street in Metropolis, Il.
