(WMOK) Massac County, IL – WMOK spoke this morning with with Massac County Highway Department Engineer Amy Ferris for an update on the reopening of Country Club Road Bridge.
WMOK learned learned from Ferris that there will be a delay due to the current placement of underground fiber optic line.

Ferris told WMOK that there are some issues with a recently located Clearwave fiber optic cable.  Ferris said that the fiber optic cable doesn’t seem to be installed in the permitted location but instead is located where the guardrail posts need to be driven.

Ferris said this is going to delay the construction of the guardrail and possibly the opening of the bridge.  She is currently working with the utility company, the design firm and IDOT to come up with a solution.
