(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – The Metropolis Public Library will be open from Noon to 7pm on Thursdays for those who aren’t able to enjoy the library and its’ offerings during the hours of 10a-5p on other weekdays.
Metropolis Public Library Director Rosemary Baxter told WMOK in June that this will be experimental and in an effort to be good stewards of the library’s resources they will only be able to continue the 5-7pm extension on Thursdays if folks come out to enjoy the library at that time.
WMOK visited the library around 5:30 on the inaugural Thursday to help celebrate the new hours.
