North Avenue / Country Club Road 4 Way Stop – No Tickets, No Problems in first week

/ WMOK

When WMOK spoke with Massac County Sheriff Chad Kaylor on Tuesday of this week – he said that things have gone well at the new 4 way stop at the Country Club Road / North Avenue intersection in Massac County.

Kaylor said that as of our discussion (Tuesday 3/14) that there have been no accidents, tickets or citations at the intersection.

Sheriff Kaylor responded during our discussion which you can hear at the bottom of this article to social media commentary: “on the first day of the stop signs the Sheriff’s office is already sitting there waiting for people to run the stop sign”

Kaylor also discussed the concern for Massac County High School students who were to travel the road that first afternoon after not having had a stop sign at the intersection when they traveled TO school.

The busiest times for the intersection seem to be immediately preceding and immediately following school hours.  Sheriff Kaylor said that during those time windows the stop signs do collect as many as 10 cars during rush times.
