A question on the minds of many has been improvements on the railroad bridge on Country Club Road in Massac County.
The bridge project is on the horizon. It was approved over a year ago however many agencies are involved in the project which has made scheduling a challenge.
Commissioner Farmer advised that Ameren will have to do work in the area regarding the electric poles as the bridge will have to be taken apart and the poles currently will impede the crane which will deconstruct the bridge.
Commissioner Brugger said he feels this will be a good time for the project as it will be taking place after the arrival of the new stop signs on North Avenue. He feels that the reduction of traffic will allow time for folks to adjust to the 4 way stop.
Massac County Highway Engineer Joe Metesevac told WMOK that the project should begin within the next month and he will give us a more definite time frame when it becomes available.
