Upcoming Important Dates for Massac Unit #1 Schools, Testing and Learning Loss – WMOK’s Conversation with Massac Unit 1 School Superintendent Jason Hayes

Massac County Unit #1 Superintendent Jason Hayes advised of important upcoming dates when he joined us in March for Coffee Break.

March 27 – State Testing begins – IAR – Illinois Assessment of Readiness for the elementary schools.   High School will test for the SAT on March 22nd.   Mr. Hayes said that he is hopeful the scores will be good.   He told WMOK that this is important and they use them to gauge some of the other improvements.

Mr. Hayes also discussed the loss of learning that occurred due to COVID-19 and the interruption of education. Hayes said he has seen huge progress in the students.
