The Bridge Inn will host a fundraiser on March 11 beginning at 5pm – the proceeds of which will go toward monkey bars and other improvements for the Brookport City Park.
The fundraiser is organized by 9 year old Brody Powell. Brody will be fundraising at the event as well at a lemonade stand with lemonade for $1 per glass.
Pork Chop (1″ smoked) Plates will be available at the fundraiser for a donation of $15 per plate.
Brody Powell, of Brookport who organized the event is the 9-year-old son of Brandon and Amanda Powell.
He began raising money to put monkey bars in the Brookport city park in October of 2022 by having a lemonade stand at a family yard sale. He then presented his idea to the Brookport City Council in November of 2022 and received approval for the installation of the monkey bars. The total cost of the monkey bars is $2,200. Since then, he has raised $2,700. Brody plan for the extra money raised to go towards other improvements in the park.
Donations can be made through PayPal to amandahallpowell@gmail.com. Tax deductible donations can be made to the Brookport Betterment Committee with Brody’s Monkey Bars in the memo line of the check.
