On February 25th Metropolis Officers were called to Massac Memorial Hospital for a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, Officers advise that they observed Joshua D Coontz,45, Elgin, IL. Coontz was yelling and screaming and he refused to listen to the officers, trying to walk away.
Security Guards at the hospital advised officers that they had been threatened by Coontz and wished to sign a complaint.
Officers advised that Coontz continued to be combative and belligerent so much so that upon arrival at the jail, he struck a deputy in the chest with his shoe.
Coontz was charged with Aggravated Battery, disorderly Conduct and Resisting/Obstructing Arrest. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
