4-Way Stop Coming Soon to the North Avenue / Country Club Road Intersection in Massac County
Plans are underway by officials for the installation of two stops signs on North Avenue in Massac County – which will bring a 4-way stop to the highly traveled road that runs North into Massac County. The conversation was brought to the forefront again following a crash at the intersection earlier in January involving a school bus.
WMOK spoke with Massac County commissioner Jeff Brugger late last week who told us that plans for a 4-way stop are underway. Brugger told WMOK that Messaging Signage will be in place on North Avenue leading up to the changes.
During Tuesday’s Massac County Commissioners meeting County Highway Engineer Joe Metesevac advised that new traffic signage will be received and a plan will be put in place to inform the community through media and messaging signage of an upcoming 4-way Stop at North Avenue and Country club Road.
WMOK spoke with Joe Metesevac on Thursday and he advised that as of right now he doesn’t have a great number of updates he told WMOK that the materials have been ordered and the vendors did not supply time frames on the delivery of those materials.
Metesevac told WMOK that arrival of the 4-way stop is expected to take place in the next month or so.
We’ll hear more going forward in our next three Tuesday Coffee Breaks as the Massac County Commissioners join us on February 7 and Massac County Sheriff Chad Kaylor joins us on February 14.
